Kildrummy® Data Exchange Overview

The Kildrummy® Data Exchange enables the intelligent loading of data including projects, budgets, report structures, changes, commitments, expenditures, accruals, libraries and much more, from other applications into Kildrummy® CostMANAGER. The Kildrummy® Data Exchange can populate almost any field in Kildrummy® CostMANAGER with data from other applications.

Before first use, the interface is configured: edit Excel template terminology and which columns are used. Set up processing database.

The main stages in the import process are as follows:

	Data is exported from the source system into the standard Excel loading template. This may be completely automated or manual manipulation can be performed to get the data into the right format.
	Data is imported from the Excel template into a staging table in the Kildrummy® CostMANAGER database. The user can view and edit the data in this table.
	Validation is run on the data to make sure that the data is in the correct format to be imported and that it obeys the business rules of Kildrummy® CostMANAGER.
	Valid data is loaded into Kildrummy® CostMANAGER. Any invalid documents will remain in the staging table. Each record that fails validation will have a simple error message explaining why that record failed validation. You can correct the data at the source or, to save going back to the start, you can update your data inside Kildrummy® CostMANAGER.
